How to foster sustainable water management – an integrative perspective that brings together sectors and landscapes 17. Dezember 2025 | 13.15 Uhr - 14.45 Uhr

Das Wasserbauseminar ist eine gemeinsame Veranstaltung der Abteilung Wasserbau und Gewässermorphologie, Abteilung Hydrologie und Flussgebietsmanagement und der Abteilung Hydromechanik, Küsteningenieurwesen und Seebau. Das Wasserbauseminar findet im jeweils mittwochs von 13:15 bis 14:45 Uhr statt. Die Vorträge werden im Regelfall in Präsenz (BI 84.2) und in Ausnahmefällen digital (über die Lehrplattform Stud.IP) stattfinden.

Auch externe Interessierte haben die Möglichkeit, sich die Vorträge des Wasserbauseminars als Gasthörer*innen anzuhören. Die Anmeldung hierzu ist semesterweise im März/April sowie im September/Oktober möglich.

In times of accelerated climate change, water management needs to be adaptive and anticipatory and at the same time integrate the various sectors affecting water management. Land use practices are as much influencing the water balance and the landscape’s ability to retain water in the area as settlements and roads affect the run-off of precipitation. In this talk, we take a landscape perspective, exploring the different viewpoints of sectors involved in and affected by water management and the steps needed to take within water management to make it adapt to the (un)certainties and consequences of climate change.
