A discovery tour through research Technische Universität Braunschweig opens the doors of its research facilities
On 21 June 2025, Technische Universität Braunschweig invites interested citizens to a discovery tour through its diverse research areas. As part of CampusXperience, various campus expeditions can be booked free of charge on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., including exciting show experiments, guided tours of high-tech facilities and laboratories, and a search for clues in the medicinal plant garden.
Numerous institutes, laboratories and research centres at Technische Universität Braunschweig invite you to experience cutting-edge research up close. Many tours are offered in two languages (German/English) to appeal to a broad target group. A shuttle service provided by BSVG ensures that visitors can move flexibly between the various campus locations.
Sustainable travel on the road, in the air and in space
The diversity of research on the topic of mobility is reflected in the numerous offerings of the participating research institutions: from an interactive escape room on the topic of asphalt to vehicle development using virtual reality to the future of space travel. The Lower Saxony Research Centre for Vehicle Technology (NFF) at the research airport is opening its technical centre, which is not normally accessible to the public, with test benches, test vehicles and laboratories. During exclusive tours and practical workshops, researchers will present examples of innovations that have made vehicles safer, more environmentally friendly and more intelligent in recent years.
Tackling tomorrow’s challenges
Under the motto ‘City of the Future’, visitors can discover a wide range of research projects that are jointly developing visions and solutions for the city of the future. The focus is on topics such as the construction of the future, houses from 3D printers, robot dogs and wastewater as a resource.
On an expedition in the name of health
In the ‘Engineering for Health’ area, visitors can expect insights into research into fluorescent DNA, excursions into the world of viruses, fungi and fragrances, and visions for the healthcare system of tomorrow. Expeditions into nanomedicine, the future of hospital construction, data science and digitalisation in healthcare round off the programme.
Discover the world of the smallest particles
Under the theme of ‘Metrology’, visitors can discover the world of the smallest atoms. At TU Braunschweig, these atoms are made visible, researched and measured. Expeditions to high-tech microscopes, light particles and electrical energy technology offer exciting insights into the world of small particles.
