Visiting students from Ecuador
Supported by the DAAD, students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Escuela Politécnica Nacional in Quito, Ecuador, visited TU Braunschweig in November. At the Institute of Acoustics and Dynamics and the Institute of Particle Technology, the guests got to know the research teams, laboratories and research areas of the institutes, including the jointly used tribology laboratory with its extensive equipment for friction analysis. In the acoustics laboratory, the students were given an insight into the research topic of low-noise design: Acoustic models, efficient simulations and experiments are used to find the optimal acoustic design of a component.
Prof. Ulrich Römer from the Institute of Acoustics and Dynamics gave an overview of research and teaching at TU Braunschweig and the industry-related activities of the institutes. “We are very pleased with our guests’ interest in our research, studying at TU Braunschweig and living in Germany. There were many questions, especially about applied research in cooperation with industry. We were also able to provide exciting insights into the academic environment in Ecuador. The two-day visit ended with a tour of the Battery LabFactory (BLB) and an insight into battery research at TU Braunschweig.
