Robert Strötgen appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Herzog August Library

The Director of the University Library of Technische Universität Braunschweig, Robert Strötgen, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Herzog August Bibliothek (HAB) Wolfenbüttel by the Science Minister of Lower Saxony, Falko Mohrs. His five-year term as a member of the Board of Trustees began on 1 April 2025.

The Board of Trustees is made up of leading representatives from research, administration and business. In addition to Robert Strötgen, the current members of the Board of Trustees are Professor Ana Dimke, President of the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig, former German Federal Minister Sigmar Gabriel, Professor Thomas Kaufmann (Georg August University Göttingen), Dr Karen Limper-Herz (British Library, London), Professor Ulrich Raulff (Chairman, Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen, Stuttgart), Dr Thomas Richter (Herzog Anton Ulrich Museum) and Dr Sabine Schormann.

The task of the Board of Trustees is to make recommendations on fundamental matters concerning the Herzog August Bibliothek, in particular on development planning, on applications for budgetary funds, on important individual issues which could have a significant impact on the position and activities of the HAB, and on its integration into the cultural life of the former state of Braunschweig and Lower Saxony.
