The team of the study programme Deutsch als Fremd- und Zweitsprache (German as a Foreign and Second Language) at TU Braunschweig invited participants to the New Senate Hall on 4 April 2024 to exchange ideas and network. The study programme is an additional certification that serves as proof of academic and didactic aptitude for tasks related to German as a foreign and second language in Germany and abroad. It is offered by the Institute of German Studies in cooperation with the Institute of English and American Studies and the Language Centre at TU Braunschweig and is open to all TU Braunschweig students and guest students. In addition, there are various external co-operations, including partnerships with local schools or the Office for Migration Issues of the City of Braunschweig.

In addition to dialogue and networking, the event, which was attended by around 40 people, provided an opportunity to thank internal and external collaborators who contribute to the implementation and success of the programme.

After Prof. Dr. Martin Neef, the academic director of the programme, welcomed the guests, the staff members Dr. Olga Aldinger, Mirjam Daum and Ron Freytag presented the structure and contents of the programme as well as the individual cooperation partners. This was followed by experience reports from two alumni of the programme, Ecem Gün and Peer Budzinski. At the end of the official part of the programme, the Get-Together provided an opportunity for exchange and in-depth discussions.
