Call: Jürgen Wehland Award 2023 for Young Infection Researchers

The Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) in Braunschweig and the HZI Förderverein (friends of the HZI) will once again honour an excellent young scientist with a junior researchers award this year. The award is named after the former Scientific Director of the HZI, Professor Jürgen Wehland.

The Jürgen Wehland Award is endowed with 5,000 euros and will be presented at the HZI on 15 September 2023.

Young scientists with an infection-related research focus are welcome to apply. The PhD should not date back more than five years; parental and child-rearing periods are taken into account. Applicants should currently be doing research in the German-speaking region or have conducted their work in this area. Self-applications are possible as well as proposals from supervisors or superiors. The proposal should be submitted in a single PDF file by e-mail.

Required are: brief description of the research work (maximum 1 page), curriculum vitae, list of publications, brief assessment of the work by established scientist (maximum 1 page), contact addresses of candidate and scientist, one to a maximum of three publications resulting from the work).
