Appointment as an expert advisor for civil protection

The constituent meeting of the Scientific Advisory Board of the The Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK) took place on 26 January 2024. Prof Lars Gerhold from the Institute of Psychology, Department of Psychology of Socio-Technical Systems, is also one of the expert advisors. The group of twelve scientists will support the work of the BBK and advise the office from a scientific perspective.

The advisory board meets twice a year. The aim of one of the two meetings is to present the current state of research and discuss its significance for civil protection.

The second meeting serves to critically and constructively analyse the BBK’s performance of its tasks from a scientific perspective.
