Public Health in motion Alumni Talk with Dr. Carola Reimann
What does public health have to do with my studies, my career and social justice? Dr. Carola Reimann, Chair of the AOK Federal Association and an alumna of TU Braunschweig, explores precisely this question in her talk: On 16 June, she will demonstrate how important health promotion, prevention and health literacy are for an effective healthcare system – and why this is a key task for the coming decades. Guests are warmly welcome to attend another talk in the ‘Alumni in the Spotlight’ series organised by TU Braunschweig’s Central Alumni Management, featuring former students.
Drawing on her own career – from her studies and PhD in Braunschweig, through many years in health policy, to the top of a major social insurance provider – she highlights the skills that are in demand today.
For students, early-career researchers and anyone interested, the lecture opens up concrete prospects: Where can I make a difference later on with my degree in public health, engineering, natural sciences or social sciences? How can scientific curiosity, social responsibility and professional success be combined? Drawing on experiences from her time as a student at TU Braunschweig and on current research topics, the lecture invites participants to help shape health as a socio-politically significant field.
