Solidarity with Ukraine Statement by the President of the TU Braunschweig

Today it has been a year since the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine began. This war has brought death and destruction to the lives of millions of Ukrainians. It leaves psychological and physical scars that will accompany an enormous number of people around the globe for the rest of their lives. TU Braunschweig stands in solidarity with all those affected by the war in Ukraine. We have initiated many measures over the past year to provide direct assistance and support. I am grateful to all members of TU Braunschweig who have gone to immeasurable extent to support refugee scientists and students.

The City of Braunschweig, together with the association “Freie Ukraine Braunschweig e. V.” and the Propstei Braunschweig (Braunschweig Provost’s Office), invites you to the commemorative event “Lights for Peace” on 24 February at 16:30 to mark the first anniversary of the Russian war of aggression on Ukraine. A large peace sign – as a symbol for peace – with candles will be placed between the equestrian statues on Schlossplatz.
