First Erasmus Mundus Programme at TU Braunschweig

The European Union’s Erasmus+ education programme stands for Europe-wide cooperation that aims to strengthen European identity and promote innovation. A special component of this is the support of students in so-called Erasmus Mundus degree programmes. Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s programmes are international excellence programmes offered jointly by at least three international universities. Scholarship holders complete at least two mobility phases at two different universities and receive funding that includes travel expenses, accommodation and tuition fees.

Erasmus Mundus Programme “Communication Systems and Data Science”

For the first time, the Technische Universität Braunschweig is now involved in an Erasmus Mundus Master Programme. Together with Aalto University in Helsinki, Finland, Grenoble INP – UGA, France, Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal, and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya Barcelona, Spain, TU Braunschweig will in future offer the Erasmus Mundus degree programme “Communication Systems and Data Science” (CoDaS), in whose curriculum students can obtain a double degree at the participating universities. The cooperation on the part of TU Braunschweig was initiated by Professor Lars Wolf, head of the Institute for Operating Systems and Computer Networks.. “We are very pleased that our joint application has been approved and thank Aalto University for centrally coordinating the application process. A highly attractive offer has been created for students, in which we as TU Braunschweig can convince with our expertise in the field of computer science “, says Wolf.

Successful as a team

Francesco Ducatelli, Erasmus+ University Coordinator at TU Braunschweig, thanks all the university institutions involved for their support during the application process: “An application like this hides many small details that had to be sorted out at short notice. It is a joint success of the Carl Friedrich Gauss Faculty, the International House and Division 1 that we can now offer the first Erasmus Mundus degree programme at TU Braunschweig.”

Applications for the „Communication Systems and Data Science“ master’s programme are expected to be open from spring 2024. Information for interested students will be provided in due time.
