EU research funding: Joint strategies of TU Braunschweig and Tampere University
Researchers from the two partner universities TU Braunschweig and Tampere University have visited the EU Liaison Office of the German Research Organisations (KoWi) in Brussels. Tenure-track professors from Braunschweig and their peers from Finland networked and learned about the European Union’s research framework programme “Horizon Europe”.
“The joint workshop serves to prepare further joint strategies for European research funding,” say Andreas Hebbelmann, Head of the Braunschweig Research Services, and Ilkka Virtanen, International Relations Manager at Tampere University. Both have been supporting the partnership between the two universities for years and welcome this first opportunity to bring together researchers from both institutions in a European framework.
The dense programme included discussions on how to apply for one of the coveted and prestigious European Commission (ERC) grants, the role of industry in European research funding and how to participate in European consortia.
