Getting to know the German language and culture Registration for the International Summer Courses at the Language Center

The 38th International Summer Course of the Language Center of the Technische Universität Braunschweig will take place from 31 August to 28 September from Monday to Friday 8.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. Students from all over the world can learn German, make new friends and experience German history, business and culture on excursions to Berlin, Wolfsburg or the Harz mountains.

The course is particularly suitable for exchange students who are planning a study visit afterwards, as the course starts shortly before the start of the semester. Many students continue their studies at the TU Braunschweig for at least one semester after the international summer courses. Participation costs 785 euros without accommodation. To participate, some previous knowledge of the German language is required, as the Language Center does not offer lessons for absolute beginners. The courses are at levels A2, B1 or B2/C1. In addition to the German language, social, political and intercultural topics are also taught. Afternoon events offer additional insights into the history and culture of Germany related through lectures given by TU Braunschweig scientists and scholars as well as through first hand experiences gained during excursions to the region.

Last year, around 70 students from 16 nations travelled to Braunschweig to study the German language and learn more about the culture of our country. Private scholarship providers, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Ministry of Science and Culture of Lower Saxony (MWK) are once again enabling numerous scholarship holders to take part in the International Summer Courses.

Search for accommodation for international guests

The Language Center is currently looking for accommodation for the international students who take part in the summer courses for a period of four weeks. 300 euros are paid per room.
