Ministry of Niedersachsen supports Hydrogen Campus Salzgitter with 2.5 million euros

On 3 February, Niedersachsen’s Science Minister, Falko Mohrs, presented the notification of 2.5 million euros to support the Hydrogen Campus Salzgitter. The campus is a joint project of Technische Universität Braunschweig, the Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST, regional companies, the city of Salzgitter and Allianz für die Region GmbH. In future, hydrogen technologies along the entire value chain – from production to use – will be developed here and specialists trained. Funds from the “zukunft.niedersachsen” programme will be used to implement the “Innovationsverbund Wasserstoff Campus Salzgitter” for accompanying research, which will be driven forward by Fraunhofer IST in close cooperation with TU Braunschweig.
