Impact Week 2026: Knowledge makes an impact TU Braunschweig hosts action week in the Science Showcase
Where and how does our university make an impact on society? This is the question that will be addressed during Impact Week at Technische Universität Braunschweig from 2 to 6 February. In the Braunschweig Science Showcase, the event week, under the motto ‘Learning through Engagement’, will highlight how studying, teaching and research contribute to solving social challenges. The highlight of the week will be the award for the best student impact project 2025/26. Impact Week will be opened by Professor Arno Kwade, Vice President for Transfer and Innovation, with the presentation of the new ‘Impact Map’, which interactively visualises the social impact of TU Braunschweig.
Impact Week focuses on the Transfer Service’s concept of Impact Learning, which combines learning and social engagement. Using concrete projects, TU Braunschweig shows how scientific findings and student engagement have an impact beyond the campus – in the city, region and society.
Diverse programme for a broad public
Impact Week is aimed at citizens, students, teachers, researchers and employees of TU Braunschweig and invites all interested parties to exchange ideas. The varied programme includes workshops, discussion formats, exhibitions, presentations, lectures, a film screening and the student competition ‘Best Impact Project 2025/26’ with an award ceremony. An overview of the programme can be found on the website.
Venue: Braunschweig Science Showcase
The five-day Impact Week will take place in Braunschweig city centre at the Science Showcase (Wissenschaftsschaufenster), Waisenhausdamm 8. The Science Showcase is centrally located and easily accessible by public transport (stop ‘Schloss’, approx. 150 metres on foot). There is no parking available on site; paid parking is available at the Magni car park and the Schloss-Arkaden car park, among others.
The Science Showcase is a place where research and science are made accessible to everyone. To this end, the city of Braunschweig is providing Braunschweig’s research institutions with a presentation and event space in a currently vacant shop for two years.
