Three days of sustainability in action TUmorrow Days 2024
From 11 to 13 June 2024 the TUmorrow Days will take place for the third time at Technische Universität Braunschweig. This year, the focus will be on how TU Braunschweig itself can become more sustainable. Workshops, lectures and discussions on topics such as climate change, social justice and sustainable development will also be on the agenda, providing an opportunity to network and develop ideas for a sustainable world.
The sustainable university of the future
This year, the focus is on how we can make TU Braunschweig itself more sustainable. The Vice President for Digitalisation and Sustainability, Prof. Manfred Krafczyk, will present the status of the sustainability strategy at the workshop ‘Kick off Sustainability@TU BS: from strategy to action’ on 11 June at 11 am and collect suitable measures together with students and employees. In addition to this, the Centre for Climate Research Niedersachsen will also collect and process ideas for a sustainable TU Braunschweig of the future at the workshop ‘The University of the Future – TU Braunschweig in the context of sustainable development’ on 12 June at 10 am.
Recognising outstanding sustainability projects and initiatives
The TUmorrow Days aim to raise awareness of sustainability, but also to draw attention to exemplary projects and initiatives. On 11 June at 6 pm, the TUmorrow Awards will be presented to teachers and students in the categories of ‘Student Commitment’, ‘Best Thesis’ and ‘Best Course’ on sustainability.
To round off the first day of TUmorrow Days 2024, TUmorrow Beats will be held in the courtyard of the ‘Altgebäude’ with powerful and lively downtempo and funky house music.
Sustainability initiatives and projects from the university and the city will be presenting themselves at the ‘Market of Sustainable Opportunities’ on 13 June from 2 pm to 6 pm on University Square and would like to talk to interested parties.
Learning new things and exploring themes
The programme offers plenty of opportunities to learn new things and explore innovative topics. The Science Slam on 12 June in the Audimax will provide an exciting insight into research and science on the topic. Knowledge can also be gained in a variety of workshops, such as ‘Equal Care’ or ‘Speed Dating for Sustainable Building’, and at the reading by Franca Parianens from her book ‘Weltrettung braucht Wissenschaft. Answers to the pressing questions of our time’ on 13 June.
