► CHE Ranking 2026: TU receives top marks for the start of studies

In the latest university ranking, TU Braunschweig features in the top group for the start of studies across all its economics degree programmes. Business Information Systems performs particularly well – with very good ratings for teaching staff supervision, course organisation and library facilities.

► “Active Idea Management”: Initial results now online

Every idea submitted for improving processes and services makes a valuable contribution to the further development of our university. Thank you very much for your contributions so far! Discover the current status of the ideas now – and please feel free to submit more.

► President’s office hours

Anyone who has a concern or ideas, whether individually or as a small group, can discuss these confidentially with President Angela Ittel during the office hours on 21 May at 10 am. Please register with Karen Lehmann by 19 May.

► Inaugural lectures

Professors of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences will give their inaugural lectures on 13 May: Prof. Fahim Mohammadi about “When Things Become Unclear: How Uncertainty Produces Knowledge” and Prof. Alejandro Tirachini about “Better by bus and train? Key research questions for public transport”.

What are researchers in the Braunschweig region working on? On 3 June, anyone interested will once again have the opportunity to engage in direct dialogue with some of them. Four researchers from our university will also be taking part. Attendance is free, but registration is required.

► Join “Alter Verwalter” on an excursion

… to the CityLABS Berlin conference on 3 June! Anyone interested in the latest trends in administrative transformation can register with the event until 13 May. TU Braunschweig members also have the chance to win one of ten train tickets for the day. More information is available here.

► Making procurement climate-friendly: Register for the training course now

Whether for the office or the laboratory: how can procurement be made more sustainable? Answers will be provided on 9 June during a training session as part of the TUmorrow Days organised by the Designated Office for Digitalisation and Sustainability. Register via Stud.IP by 13 May!

► “Meet a Scientist”: researchers wanted for interactive session

Spark visitors’ interest in your own research topic for 15 minutes using a handy exhibit: TU Braunschweig researchers / scientists can do just that at Lower Saxony Day. Anyone keen to fill a slot between 12 and 14 June can get in touch with Annika Kleinwächter or Jessica Koch from the Ecoversity Hub.

► Tips and examples of use for the Research Information System (FIS)

The FIS showcases research and knowledge transfer activities at TU Braunschweig. Anyone wishing to find out more can take part in an in-depth online training session on 20 May.

► Host families and mentors sought for young professionals from the USA

The Parliamentary Sponsorship Programme is a joint scholarship programme run by the German Bundestag and the US Congress. Host families and mentors are being sought in Braunschweig for the current cohort of participants from October 2026 to June 2027.

► Call for applications: Ecoversity “Attracting Talent” – Visiting Fellowships

From now on, departments at our university can apply for funding for visiting stays by international postdocs and professors. The aim is to promote international collaboration and facilitate joint research projects. The call for tender is open until 2028, with the first deadline on 15 June.

► Our darling of the week

… is finally giving North Campus a green oasis! With the reed garden, the team at OpenCultures has created a temporary meeting place – for exploring, learning and relaxing. Anyone keen to help us celebrate the climate garden with a drink is warmly invited to the soft opening on 18 May. On behalf of the project team, we would like to thank all the volunteers, especially AKA Kraft, for their logistical support. Bring on the summer!
