CHE Ranking 2026: A strong start to university life at TU Braunschweig
Guidance, support, a helping hand: In the latest CHE university rankings, Technische Universität Braunschweig has achieved top marks for the start of degree programmes in economics. Business Information Systems, in particular, has received excellent ratings from students.
A degree course doesn’t just begin with the first lecture. It begins with guidance and confidence in your choice of degree programme.
The latest CHE University Ranking for 2026/27 provides prospective students and their families with an important answer to this question. This year, the focus was primarily on economics degree programmes. The result: TU Braunschweig achieves top scores across all listed degree programmes in the ‘Support at the start of studies’ category.
“A degree course begins with a decision – and with the question of whether you’re in the right place,” says Professor Knut Baumann, Vice-President for Student Affairs at TU Braunschweig. “That is why a good start to your studies is so important. It provides guidance, reassurance and momentum. That is exactly what we offer at TU Braunschweig right from the start.”
Business Information Systems scores highly for excellent support from teaching staff
The results are particularly strong in Business Information Systems – a subject that is becoming increasingly important in the age of artificial intelligence, the data economy and digital transformation. Here, students rate the support provided by teaching staff, the organisation of the degree programme and the library facilities very highly. Business Information Systems at TU Braunschweig also scores highly for its digital teaching elements.
The Industrial Engineering degree programmes, as well as the Technology-Oriented Management Bachelor’s degree programme – which is classified under Business Administration in the ranking – also achieve outstanding scores at the start of the degree programme. Technology-Oriented Management also performs strongly across several research indicators: the subject performs particularly well in terms of publications, third-party funding and doctorates per professor. This is precisely where the strength of a university of technology lies: in closely linking economic issues with technology, innovation and research.
