► It’s a busy time on campus!

Sustainability, internationality, diversity and all things health. The summer semester is once again full of great events on campus. From International Days and Diversity Days to Tomorrow Days and Health Week, it’s all about getting involved, finding out more and celebrating. There’s something for everyone!

► ClimateCrisisClock to be dismantled

Following water damage caused by heavy rainfall last June, the student-designed and built ClimateCrisisClock on the Forum building had to be shut down for safety reasons. This was compounded by other technical defects. Next week, the ClimateCrisisClock will be taken down.

► The key to digital and sustainable construction

At the Innovation Forum “Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing” organised by the TransferHub, Braunschweig Zukunft GmbH and the Braunschweig Chamber of Industry and Commerce, companies were given a first insight into the “Digital Construction Site” project. In an interview, the researchers talk about their vision for the future and the involvement of the regional and national industry.

► A new chapter in coastal research

The Leichtweiß Institute for Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources invited researchers from eleven German partner institutes in the field of marine research to the kick-off meeting of the METAscales project, coordinated by TU Braunschweig. The aim of the project is to improve the resilience of coastal communities to future extreme events and natural hazards.

► A permanent place on the aviation map

Science Minister Falko Mohrs visited Braunschweig Research Airport on 12 April to see for himself the progress made by the SE²A Cluster of Excellence in Sustainable Aviation at the Institute of Aircraft Propulsion and Turbomachinery.

► A warm welcome

Professor Marius Milatz! Since the beginning of the summer term, he has been head of the Institute of Geomechanics and Geotechnics. His research focuses on the use of computed tomography to study processes and phenomena in soils.

► 3 Inaugural lectures from 2 faculties

There will be 3 inaugural lectures next week: Prof. Dr. Peter Düking, Institute for Sport Science and Movement Pedagogy, und Prof. Dr. Marcel Mierwald, Institute for History, will hold their inaugural lectures on 24 April, and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Federica Ferraro, Institute of Jet Propulsion and Turbomachinery, on 25 April.

► Ways out of the crisis. Impulses from Judaism

This summer semester, the Institute for Protestant Theology and Religious Education is organising the lecture series “Ways out of the crisis. Impulses from Judaism“. The lectures take place on Wednesdays in lecture hall BI 84.2 on the North Campus.

► Start-up Stammtisch Braunschweig

Under the motto “AIvolution: How start-ups are pushing the boundaries of intelligence”, iTUBS invites you to a discussion on the role of start-ups in the AI revolution at Trafo Hub on 25 April. Coldsense Technologies, KLEOS and Sentics GmbH will take part.

► Sharing skills

Sharing is more than just sharing objects. On the Sandkastenplattform under “Helping Hands” you can register your preferences and skills and share your knowledge. Project teams can then contact you.

► SAiL: Strengthening and expanding international teaching

Help shape the future of teaching at TU Braunschweig! The SAIL funding line of the ProDiGi project invites you to submit projects aimed at strengthening and expanding English-language teaching. Projects for the (further) development of an English-language module package or an English-language.

► zukunft.niedersachsen website on the funding programme

Thanks to the special dividend from Porsche AG, zukunft.niedersachsen is the largest funding programme for research and teaching in the history of Lower Saxony. There is now a website with information on the funding opportunities.

► Japanese-German Symposium

On 24 and 25 May, the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science and the German Society of JSPS Scholars will hold their annual symposium on “How we can learn from nature” at TU Braunschweig. The speakers will be TU Professor Nicole Karafyllis and TU Professor Markus Böl. Registration is open until 26 April.

► Cycle flea market

On Saturday, 20 April, from 10:00 to 18:00, you can pick up a cheap bike at the bicycle flea market organised by the AStA’s Bicycle and Transport Group in Eulenstraße.

► Social Impact Award

The Erasmus Student Network Braunschweig received the Social Impact Award at the Erasmus Generation Meeting in Seville for organising the “Understanding Week” in the winter semester. 

► Our Darlings of the week

… are now blooming in shades of white, cream, pink, coral and red. The first peonies in the Botanic Garden are in full bloom, smelling wonderful and providing plenty of nectar for insects. As the different species in this garden have different flowering times, you can enjoy the colourful flowers, which can grow up to 20 cm tall, until June. Feel free to stop by during your lunch break!
