► Opening of QVLS HighTech Incubator

Lower Saxony’s new technology transfer centre for quantum technologies was opened on 10 April in the former Rolleiwerke. In order to ensure the long-term success of research transfer, start-ups, research institutions and companies will be able to exchange ideas on an ongoing basis. Supported by the German federal and state governments, the centre’s excellent facilities are expected to help boost the future potential of quantum technologies in the region.

► TU research at the Hannover Messe

Quantum technology on 500 square metres: TU Braunschweig and Quantum Valley Lower Saxony (QVLS) will be exhibiting with other initiatives and partners at the industrial trade fair from 22 to 26 April. The SE²A cluster for sustainable aviation, the Institute of Flight Guidance and the “ReTraSON” transformation network will also be present at the “Gemeinschaftsstand Niedersachsen”.

► The Digital Construction Site

On Campus East, a unique research infrastructure is being created, consisting of various digitally controlled large-scale facilities. With the project “The Digital Construction Site – Construction Industry 4.0 as the Key to a Digital and Sustainable Construction Industry”, four institutes are researching digital production technologies and their effects on planning and production processes under real construction site conditions and providing impetus for construction practice.

► Movement brings people together

The Institute of Sport Science and Physical Education is testing a special form of international teaching: as part of the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme, students are investigating the influences of the environment on the body and movement in an international context in hybrid and face-to-face courses together with the Universidad de Valladolid in Spain, the Université de Lyon in France and the Instituto Politecnico in Portugal.

► StudyBuddy closing event

A glimpse into the future of education will be offered on 25 April at the closing event of the “StudyBuddy” project by TU Braunschweig, Oskar-Kämmer-Schule, Constructor University and AKAD University. The presentation of the virtual learning companion will be followed by a panel discussion on “How do virtual companions influence education?”.

► Entrance test for Sports Studies

From the summer semester onwards, there will no longer be an entrance test for enrolment in sports at our university. After a corona test period without a practical aptitude test and intensive consideration of the arguments in favour of barrier-free studies, the proposal to change the admission regulations was approved.

► DaF/DaZ: Thanks to the cooperation partners

The team of the German as a Foreign and Second Language programme recently held a networking event in the New Senate Hall. They thanked the internal and external cooperation partners, such as the Office for Migration of the City of Braunschweig, who contribute to the implementation and success of the programme.

► Accommodation for international students wanted

Do you have a room available from 15 June to 27 July or from 1 to 30 September? The International House is looking for accommodation for the international participants of the TU Braunschweig Summer School – a great opportunity if you want to improve your language skills or have an exciting intercultural experience in general.

► Darling of the week

is the student engagement on the Mensawiese, to which the AStA invites you to an information fair on 15 April from 11.30 am. Students can get to know our student initiatives, find out where they can get involved outside of their studies, and find out which initiative suits them best. Good luck and hopefully nice weather!
