► Support for researchers who have fled Ukraine
Researchers who were forced to leave Ukraine can receive funding from the VolkwagenStiftung in order to continue their work in Germany. Applications for this can be submitted by the host researchers at TU Braunschweig and are coordinated by International House and Research Service. Andreas Hebbelmann, Head of Research Services and European Office, will answer further questions.
► Verbal inclusion and diversity
The new “Guideline Language and Diversity” provides an overview of linguistic diversity, explains the gender-sensitive and -inclusive use of language, offers orientation and gives concrete tips for clever use of gender in different situations.

… to Professor Elisabeth Endres. As the first woman from the discipline of architecture, the head of the Institute for Building Climatology and Energy of Architecture (IBEA) recently received the Culture Award of the Ingrid zu Solms Foundation.
► Impressions from the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona
Last week, Quantum Valley Lower Saxony (QVLS) was at the world’s largest mobile communications trade fair, networking our region’s quantum research on an international stage.
► Braunschweig and Kyoto investigate alternative materials for batteries
The maximum performance of commercial lithium-ion batteries seems to have been reached. Lukas Noll from Institute of Energy and Process Systems Engineering explains how alternative materials for battery components are being researched in an international project.
► From fruit box to a piece of furniture
“move/able” is the name of a modular furniture system that architecture students Linus Starmann and Marcel Galrao developed in a project at the Institute for Architecture-Related Art (IAK). They can now use it to design an event room in the State Representation of Lower Saxony in Berlin.
► Counselling and mini-coaching
The service “Work-related and diagnostic counselling and mini-coaching” is part of the H-Work project. It helps to cope with stress and problems at work and to do one’s own work both better and healthier.
► Care/Work meets Corona
What effects did the pandemic have on scientists at TU Braunschweig and their work? Which problems did contact restrictions, care tasks and others worsen or even trigger? What kind of leadership culture do we need? These and other questions will be answered in an online discussion in the series “Future Questions – Controversial” on 15 March.
► “Strategiekompass“: Kick-off with the university management
The Department Professional and Personnel Development invites you to the first event of the impulse and exchange format “Strategiekompass“ for leaders at TU Braunschweig. On 18 March, together with the guests President Angela Ittel and Vice President for Human Resources, Finance and University Construction Dietmar Smyrek they take a look at the topics of strategy and strategic leadership.
► Darling of the week
This week’s darling is a special matter of the heart: Under the claim WeCare for Ukraine, the new page of the International House and Research Service from today on gathers support and counselling services for refugee students and researchers from Ukraine as well as for Ukrainian members of TU Braunschweig. This includes a telephone helpline, a sponsorship programme and an overview of current information events. Anyone who would like to help will also find the right contact point here – whether for interpreting, donations or if you have specific ideas for further ways to help.
