Launch of new network promoted by Ecoversity initiative Exchange between scientists and clinicians at the interface of food quality, nutrition and health
On 12 November 2025, the first network meeting took place in the interdisciplinary field of ‘Food Quality – Nutrition – Health’. The aim of the newly founded network is to intensify regional scientific cooperation in this forward-looking field of research and to create a sustainable platform for exchange between scientists and clinicians. The meeting was sponsored by the Ecoversity Initiative of Technische Universität Braunschweig.

At the invitation of the Institute of Food Chemistry, represented by Jun.-Prof. Jana Raupbach and Prof. Peter Winterhalter, a total of 27 representatives from research and industry took part. These included members of Technische Universität Braunschweig, Leibniz Universität Hannover (LUH), Stiftung Tierärztliche Hochschule Hannover (TiHo), Deutsches Institut für Lebensmitteltechnik (DIL), Internationale Forschungsgemeinschaft Futtermitteltechnik e.V. (IFF) and other industry partners.
Initial networking activities were initiated, particularly in the areas of food quality, public health and precision nutrition, with the aim of combining teaching transfer, outreach and joint research.
The participants’ conclusion was clearly positive: “A successful event. The collaboration should definitely be further intensified.”
The next steps have already been planned: online small group meetings on the various topics later this year and the next large network meeting in spring 2026.
Interested scientists and clinicians who would like to get involved in the network are welcome to contact Jana Raupbach.
