Two start-ups from TU Braunschweig honoured

Aeon Robotics GmbH (second place) and PhySens GmbH (third place), two spin-offs from TU Braunschweig, were awarded the Braunschweig Start-Up Prize on 4 December. Braunschweigische Landessparkasse and Braunschweig Zukunft GmbH awarded the prize for the eighth time. The prize is awarded to innovative business ideas from young companies in Braunschweig.

Aeon Robotics GmbH, a TU Braunschweig spin off founded by Dr Sören Michalik, Dr Sönke Michalik and Dr Lars Heim, has developed the HandEffector, a robotic hand that uses artificial intelligence to learn grasping movements directly from humans and can therefore be operated intuitively without any programming knowledge.

Another TU Braunschweig spin-off, PhySens GmbH, originally developed its measurement and magnetic field technology for the aerospace industry. However, the largest area of application for PhySens’ intelligent sensor technology is now the railway industry, where it makes an important contribution to greater safety in plant and infrastructure monitoring. PhySens is managed by Henriette Struckmann, Dr Katharina Ostaszewski and Dr Philip Heinisch.

In addition to the prize money, the winning start-ups can also look forward to media services from Stroer Media.
