TU spin-off launches EXIST research transfer

Ceramic Dynamic, the spin-off project at the Institute of Mechanics and Adaptronics (IMA) at TU Braunschweig and supported by the transfer service of the TU, started its 24-month development and validation phase in August as part of the EXIST research transfer.

The Braunschweig-based start-up is developing processes for innovative, 3D-printed and lead-free piezoceramics that are more environmentally friendly and more powerful. Piezo elements are used in lighters, in ultrasound diagnostics and for sonar applications.

Over the next two years, prototypes will be manufactured and feasibility studies will demonstrate their readiness for series production and their economic viability. Office and laboratory space at the Institute of Mechanics and Adaptronics (IMA) will be made available to the founding team for the realisation of the project. The funding amount of over one million euros from the EXIST research transfer programme of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) and the European Social Fund (ESF) was approved after a positive assessment by the project management agency Jülich.
