RILEM Fellow: International award for Professor Michael P. Wistuba
Following his appointment as a RILEM Fellow last year, Professor Michael P. Wistuba, Head of the Braunschweig Pavement Engineering Centre at TU Braunschweig, has now received his certificate from RILEM President Professor Nicolas Roussel in Milan. The award recognises his international contributions to materials research and the further development of global cooperation in this field.
The Réunion Internationale des Laboratoires et Experts des Matériaux, systèmes de construction et ouvrages (RILEM) was founded in 1947 to promote international scientific cooperation in the construction industry. It brings together experts from practice and academia. There are currently 93 RILEM Fellows from six different disciplines, including five from the “Bituminous Materials and Polymers” cluster. Professor Wistuba is one of a small group of five Fellows from the field of road engineering.
Michael P. Wistuba studied Civil Engineering at the Vienna University of Technology, where he graduated with honours in 2002 with a dissertation on asphalt construction methods. Since 2008, he has been a university professor for Pavement Engineering and head of the Braunschweig Pavement Engineering Centre. In the international association RILEM, he led and leads the Cluster F on bituminous materials and polymers as Convenor (2018-2020) and as Expert (2016-2018, 2020-2025).
