Professor Michael P. Wistuba appointed new president of the European Asphalt Technology Association
On 12 June 2025, Professor Michael P. Wistuba, from the Braunschweig Pavement Engineering Centre at Technische Universität Braunschweig, was appointed President of the European Asphalt Technology Association (EATA) during the 11th EATA Conference in Ancona, Italy. The organisation brings together European engineers and scientists involved in asphalt technology research.
EATA was founded in 2004 at the University of Nottingham, although its origins date back to 1973. It was inspired by the Association of Asphalt Paving Technologists in the USA, founded in 1924. The EATA’s mission is to promote and enhance the application of asphalt technology in engineering practice. The organisation regularly publishes a volume of peer-reviewed articles on asphalt technology.
