Hamburg Aviation: TU student honoured for ‘Best Master’s Thesis’
Pia Allebrodt from Technische Universität Braunschweig (cooperation partner German Aerospace Centre (DLR), Institute of System Architectures in Aviation) has received the award for ‘Best Master’s Thesis’ from Hamburg Aviation. Hamburg Aviation is the aviation cluster of the Hamburg metropolitan region – one of the world’s leading locations for civil aviation. In her master’s thesis, Allebrodt developed a methodology that extends early aircraft design to include the discipline of cabin acoustics, enabling reliable and computationally efficient cabin noise predictions to be made at this early stage. This enables aircraft design that optimally combines the sometimes conflicting requirements of traditional disciplines with those of cabin acoustics – for quiet passenger cabins in aircraft that are both climate-friendly and efficient.
Hamburg Aviation honoured the winners of the 2025 Young Talent Award on 25 November 2025. Outstanding scientific theses were awarded in the categories Bachelor, Master and Sustainable Aviation. A total of twelve young talents were honoured for addressing key future issues in aviation with their work and commitment. According to the announcement, the winners of the Young Talent Award are selected by an independent jury from the Hamburg Aviation Community.
