From the legendary currywurst to the Christmas party buffet
Farewell to Sabine Maurer after 22 years
Whether it’s a delicious, changing lunch menu, the legendary currywurst or home-made cakes. For 22 years, Sabine Maurer, the tenant of the Company Canteen, has been cooking and baking for the staff of TU Braunschweig. On 20 June, she opened the doors of the social and meeting room in the basement of the Historic Main Building for the last time.
In addition to the daily changing menu, she also catered for countless events such as institute celebrations, anniversaries, visits from experts and much more, with buffets, platters of bread, cakes and tarts, drinks and everything else the cooker and kitchen had to offer.
As a farewell gift, Vice President Dietmar Smyrek and Regine Stegemann from the Staff Council presented her with a large bouquet of flowers, with a heartfelt thanks and best wishes for the future.
Anyone looking for a souvenir to take home or to add to their kitchen at home can visit the Canteen Flea Market in the Company Canteen on 26 and 27 June from 10am to 3pm.
