CIRP Fellowship for Prof. Christoph Herrmann

Prof. Christoph Herrmann, Director of the Institute for Machine Tools and Manufacturing Technology IWF and Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST, was awarded a fellowship at the annual meeting of the International Academy for Production Engineering in Stockholm.

“What fascinated me about CIRP from the very beginning was its unique spirit as a working academy – an academy that not only promotes excellent science, but also builds and nurtures cross-border friendships. And long before it became mainstream, the academy – inspired by pioneers such as Leo Alting – recognised the importance of life cycle engineering,” writes Prof. Herrmann on LinkedIn.

CIRP Fellows are internationally recognised scientists who are elected as lifetime members. The number of Fellows is limited and subject to a rigorous selection process based on the highest academic standards.

The International Academy for Production Engineering (French: College International pour la Recherche en Productique (CIRP)), based in Paris, is a renowned international organisation in the field of production engineering. CIRP is committed to the technological advancement of production engineering by promoting international research.
