Lottery process launched for numerous degree programmes at TU Braunschweig From Biology to Educational Sciences: Study places still available for the winter semester
Good news for last-minute applicants and those who decide on a whim: the lottery process for the 2026/27 winter semester has begun at the Technische Universität Braunschweig. Prospective students can still apply for their preferred degree programme. The process for degree programmes with free admission, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes, is open until 15 October 2026. The lottery system also enables applicants to apply for places that have become available at short notice or have not yet been allocated on a degree programme with restricted admission. The application period for this ends on 30 September 2026.
Applications for the lottery via the ‘TUconnect’ portal
Prospective students can apply for as many degree programmes as they wish via the ‘TUconnect’ university portal. Only one application may be submitted per degree programme.

Undergraduate degree programmes:
Single-subject Bachelor’s degree programmes (until 30 September)

- Biology
- Biotechnology
- Educational Sciences
Two-subject Bachelor’s degree programmes (until 30 September)
- Biology Education
- Chemistry Education
- Performing Arts as a minor subject
- Educational Sciences
- Philosophy
- Physics Education
Media Sciences as a major subject with the following minor subject (until 30 September)
- Art History and Aesthetics
Master’s degree programmes and Continuing Education programmes (until 30 September)
- Artificial Intelligence for Molecular Science
- Chemistry
- Electromobility
- Electronic Automotive and Aerospace Systems
- Automotive Engineering and Mobile Systems
- Food Chemistry
- Metrology and Measurement Technology
- Pharmaceutical Process Engineering
- Environmental Engineering
- Transportation Engineering
- Industrial and Civil Engineering
- Industrial and Mechanical Engineering
Further lottery-based admission procedures may also be opened at a later date.
Applicants who have already submitted an application for a Master’s programme and have been allocated a ranking position following a rejection notice will automatically be included in the waiting list process. However, they will not automatically be included in the lottery-based admission procedure.
Enrolment possible for undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes with free admission
There are numerous degree programmes at TU Braunschweig with free admission. These range from Battery and Hydrogen Technology through to Physics, Chemistry and History. Last-minute applicants can still enrol for the 2026/27 winter semester until 15 October.
