CHE University Ranking: Top Marks for Degree Programmes Students award top scores
The students at Technische Universität Braunschweig are extremely satisfied with their studies. All of TU Braunschweig’s degree programmes assessed in the latest university ranking conducted by the Centre for Higher Education (CHE) have secured top positions. In comparison with the assessment three years ago, almost all of the university’s degree programmes improved their rankings.
Our technical degree programmes such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, as well as Biotechnology, scored points in particular on the hard facts about research and teaching that were included in the evaluation. Significant progress was also recorded for smaller degree programmes like Educational Sciences and Psychology, as well as English and American Studies.
Our Mechanical Engineering programme ranks among the best in the categories of international orientation, contact with the work environment during the master’s programme, as well as third party funds per academic and the number of doctorates earned per professor. Biotechnology also received top marks for third party funds per academic and doctorates earned per professor, as well as for the support provided at the beginning of a student’s studies. Contact with the work environment, citations per publication and third party funds per academic were rated “good” to “very good” in Electrical Engineering. “These first-rate results show that the close ties we cultivate between teaching, fundamental research and practical applications are paying off”, affirms TU Braunschweig President Prof. Anke Kaysser-Pyzalla.
In Civil Engineering, students awarded top marks for the overall study situation, teacher support and support for stays abroad. The Psychology programme received a high ranking thanks to an excellent appraisal by its students. They are very satisfied with the overall study situation, teacher support and the range of courses offered. In these categories, the degree programme ascended to the top group, ranking among the four best in Germany. “These results reflect our culture of excellent teaching here at TU Braunschweig. We continuously strive to improve the quality of our teaching through various targeted programmes”, explains Prof. Wolfgang Durner, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs.
In the overall ranking, TU Braunschweig’s Educational Sciences programme came in at number one for all of Germany. Job market preparation, the number of graduations within an appropriate time span and the number of doctorates earned per professor all received excellent scores. In terms of support yt the beginning of a student’s studies, international orientation and bachelor’s degrees earned in an appropriate time span, our English Studies programme ranks among the best in Germany.
