University elections 2023: The results are in! Significant increase in voter turnout

At Technische Universität Braunschweig, the elections for the Senate, the Faculty Councils, the Commission for Equal Opportunities, the PhD Students’ Representative Councils of Faculties 2, 4 and 6 as well as the Student Parliament, the Student Councils and the Subject Group Councils took place from 20 to 27 January 2023. The election office has now published the results.

The term of office for the elected members of all committees begins on 1 April 2023 and lasts for two years until 31 March 2025, or one year until 31 March 2024 for the student representatives.

The increased voter turnout this year is very positive. A total of 23 percent of all eligible university members responded to the call and cast their vote in the one-week online election process. This means that the turnout is eight percent higher than the comparable figure for the last major university election in 2020/2021.
