► The Victoria was in bloom and the Botanical Garden showed who it belongs to
During Victoria Nights, the Botanical Garden showed itself at its best: the giant water lily was in bloom, hundreds of guests attended – and new signs make clear what many have long known: this special place belongs to the TU Braunschweig. It also thrives on the commitment of its Friends’ Association.
► Visiting researchers conducting research into vaccines
Two visiting researchers from Cuba and Brazil are working at the Institute of Medical Biotechnology. In Prof. Michael Hust’s research group, they are developing antibodies, biomarkers and vaccines for humans and animals, and contributing their international expertise to current research projects.
► MS Wissenschaft 2027: Exhibits wanted!
The Science Year 2027 will focus entirely on space travel. For the exhibition on the floating Science Centre, ideas for exhibits are being sought that shed light on the topic from a wide variety of perspectives and disciplines. Submissions from the social sciences and the humanities are also expressly welcome. The deadline for submissions is 28 September.
► Integration of car parks on the East Campus and the North Campus
Cameras are currently being installed and signs erected on the East Campus (Langer Kamp, including GITZ and Beethovenstraße) and on the North Campus to prepare for integration into the TU’s car park management system. From 1 September, a paid parking ticket will also be required in these areas.
► Call for tender (CFT): “Research Infrastructure Seed Funding Call”
How can we raise the profile of our large-scale equipment and ensure it is utilised more effectively across working groups? Projects that find answers to these questions will receive funding of up to 20,000 euros for ten months, starting in January 2027. The application deadline is 30 October.
► Ecoversity Call for Proposals: “Early career scientist@TU Braunschweig”
Through the Ecoversity Call for Proposals, TU Braunschweig is funding collaborative workshops and research initiatives led by researchers / scientists. Researchers / scientists who have been appointed to the university within the last five years, as well as assistant professors, tenure-track professors and postdoctoral researchers, can submit applications until 11 September.
► Our darling of the week
… will be able to call themselves microtechnologists, IT specialists or administrative assistants in a few years’ time – at the start of August, 25 new apprentices began a new chapter in their lives at our university, undergoing education in twelve different professions. A warm welcome to you all – we’re really looking forward to having you here!
