Available study places in the winter semester Apply now for free admission undergraduate study places and lottery procedures
Spontaneous and undecided applicants still have a good chance of getting into the degree programme of their choice at Technische Universität Braunschweig. A lottery procedure is currently being held for various study places with restricted admission for the winter semester 2024/25. In addition, prospective students can still apply until 15 October for undergraduate programmes with free admission.
The lottery procedure allows applicants who have missed the application deadline for restricted admission degree programmes or who have been rejected in the first round, as well as late applicants, to obtain study places for a degree programme with restricted admission that become available at short notice or that have not yet been allocated.
Take part in the lottery by email
Prospective students can apply for any number of degree programmes by lottery. However, only one application can be submitted per degree programme. All you need to do is send an informal application by email to the Student Office with the subject line “Losverfahren” (lottery procedure), stating the degree programme and degree as well as your name, address, telephone number and email address.

- Culture of the Techno-scientific World (until 11 October)

- Teacher Training Course: Gymnasien (until 11 October): Chemistry, German, English, History, Maths, Physics
- Teacher Training Course: Haupt- und Realschulen (until 11 October): Biology, Chemistry, German, English, History, Maths, Music, Physics, Protestant Religion, Sport
The website of the lottery procedure is continuously updated so that further subjects can be added. For degree programmes with a deadline of 21 October, lots are drawn weekly.
Still enrol for undergraduate subjects with free admission
From Transportation Engineering, Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering to the new degree programme in Battery and Hydrogen Technology: many degree programmes at TU Braunschweig are free of admission. Last-minute applicants can enrol for these degree programmes for the winter semester 2024/25 until 15 October.
Prospective students who are still undecided have several options to check whether their chosen degree programme is right for them. They can either seek personal advice directly from the Academic Advice Service, use the Online-Self-Assessment to help them make a decision or find out more about the degree programme via video.
