At Home in the Future Hochschulinformationstag 2023 presents study opportunities at TU Braunschweig

What is it like to study at Technische Universität Braunschweig and what is campus life like? Anyone who would like to find out is cordially invited to the Hochschulinformationstag (HIT) (Higher Education Information Day) of Technische Universität Braunschweig on 22 September. Visitors can explore courses and student life in taster lectures, portraits of degree programmes, guided tours and opportunities for discussion. In this way, pupils and prospective students in particular can find out about their desired degree programme and find their “home in the future”.

When TU Braunschweig opens its doors on 22 September at the Hochschulinformationstag (HIT), prospective students can expect a diverse and exciting programme. The focus is particularly on important challenges that will shape the “home in the future” far beyond the studies. Marieke Polnik, Academic Advice Service at TU Braunschweig and organiser of the HIT, explains: “The HIT is not only intended to present study options, but also to show at the same time that at TU Braunschweig you are already involved in important research questions during your studies and can thus shape the future.”

The range of offers for those interested in studying is broad: “Electrification of the sky: What will the aircraft of the future look like?”, “Living in the face of sea-level rise”, “Sustainable batteries, fuel cells and green hydrogen made at TU Braunschweig”, “Virtual chemistry: From computer simulations to artificial intelligence” or “The development of human antibodies against infectious diseases” are just a few highlights.

Getting to know the academic subjects and campus life

From 9:00 to 13:00 at the HIT, prospective students can find out about the teaching content behind the various degree programmes at TU Braunschweig. More than 30 portraits of degree programmes and over 20 taster lectures offer an authentic insight into the studies. In addition, all faculties of TU will present themselves at a fair on the University Square and in the Main Lecture Hall. At the stands, questions on studies and campus life can be asked and answered directly in a personal conversation. Studi-Talk Live! is also about studying from a student’s perspective. Students will talk about their everyday lives and answer questions from prospective students. Other lectures will provide practical tips and information on the application process, student financing and semesters abroad.

Special programme in the afternoon

In the afternoon, some degree programmes offer a special programme from 13:00. For example, those interested can learn about all the things you can do with liquid nitrogen in the laboratories of the Chemistry Centre or take a guided tour of the Institute of Food Chemistry. Those interested in studying Engineering can take a guided tour of the railway training facility of the Institute of Transport, Railway Construction and Operation or learn how a house can be printed in a field report by civil engineers.

Registration for free admission degree programmes still possible

Registration for participation in the HIT is not necessary. Due to the limited number of places, it is advisable to be there on time for some of the programme points. There is good news for all those who decide to study at TU Braunschweig after the Hochschulinformationstag: Registration for all free admission degree programmes is still possible until 15 October.
