Abitur – what now? TU Braunschweig supports young women in STEM
For all young women who are currently doing their Abitur and are considering whether or which STEM degree courses and professions might be right for them, Technische Universität Braunschweig offers the Niedersachsen-Technikum, a six-month intensive and practical orientation programme.
Interested high school graduates and their parents are invited to an information session to find out everything about the contents, procedures and application for the Niedersachsen-Technikum on
Thursday, 23 March 2023, 5.00 pm,
Room PK 4.2, Pockelsstr. 4, TU Historic Main Building.
In addition, a former participant will report on her experiences at the event.
Registration and further information at www.tu-braunschweig.de/technikum.
The next Niedersachsen-Technikum starts on September 1st and lasts 6 months. A paid internship on 4 days a week gives the young women a realistic picture of professions in technology, natural sciences or computer science. Another component is the weekly university day with regular attendance of a course, which includes examination and credit opportunities. In addition, there are visits to institutes and laboratories, discussions with students and lecturers, excursions to companies and other research institutions.
The students of the recently completed Niedersachsen-Technikum 2022/23 have also become enthusiastic about technical professions, like Fenja (20) from Holle: “In addition to programming experience, I got to know a lot of STEM professions and found out that computer science is more exciting to me than I thought. That’s why I decided to study Computer and Communication Systems Engineering.”
