Top marks for computer science and physics in Braunschweig CHE Ranking: Master's students award top marks for study conditions
In the latest Master’s ranking of the CHE Centre for Higher Education Development, the Master’s programmes in Computer Science and Data Science at the Carl Friedrich Gauß Faculty and the Master’s programme in Physics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Information Technology and Physics at TU Braunschweig received top marks from students for their study conditions.
Students were able to evaluate a total of ten indicators. In the two degree programmes Computer Science and Data Science, the Master’s students rated their studies at TU Braunschweig above avarage in nine areas: supervision by teachers, support during studies, range of courses, organisation of studies, transition to Master’s studies, digital teaching elements, research orientation, practical relevance of teaching and overall study situation.
In a national comparison, the criteria of teacher support, study organisation and transition to the Master’s programme were rated particularly highly by students, with 4.3 out of five stars each. Among other things, students were asked how well access to courses worked, whether compulsory courses could be attended without overlapping, whether teachers were available to answer questions and solve problems, and whether there was good support for solving exercises or homework.
Physics with foreign language working groups is excellent
Physics students particularly value the overall study situation and the range of courses offered in their programme. With a rating of 4.2, both programmes are well above the national average. Top marks were also awarded for internationality. When asked about the proportion of foreign-language working groups, students gave the full 100 percent.
