► University Elections – Election Notice
The Notice of Elections for the Senate, the Faculty Councils, the Commission for Gender Equality and the Doctoral Student Council has been published. Please note that the deadline for submitting nominations is 15 November. All important information and forms for the elections can be found on the website of the Elections Office.
► Prof Josef Penninger: Honoured for outstanding research and networking
The Scientific Director of the HZI in Braunschweig has been appointed honorary professor. The TU Braunschweig honours his outstanding achievements in cell and molecular biology research and his outstanding ability to network scientific institutions. Many congratulations!
► A strong voice for teacher training
How to tackle the shortage of teachers while ensuring high-quality training was the topic of a nationwide network meeting on teacher training. The event was organised by the Stifterverband and Professor Katja Koch, Vice-President for Teacher Training at TU Braunschweig.
► German Youth Literature Award: Opening by Professor Jan Standke
The award ceremony for the German Youth Literature Award 2024 at the Frankfurt Book Fair was opened this year by Professor Jan Standke from the Institute for German Studies. Standke has been chairman of the German Youth Literature Association (AKJ) since April.
► Honorary doctorate for Prof Reiner Hildebrandt-Stramann
Prof Reiner Hildebrandt-Stramann (retired) from the Institute of Sport Science and Physical Education in Brazil has been awarded an honorary doctorate for the second time.
► Potential for improving the information portal
One of the top requests in the Central Administration Service Survey was to improve the information portal. A first workshop on this topic will be held via Webex on 5 November from 9 to 11 am for collaborative development.
► Save the date: Base Camp International Teaching
Internationalizing teaching – On 3 and 4 December, the Base Camp International Teaching invites you to explore the challenges and opportunities of this topic in keynotes, workshops and a panel discussion. Registration is now open!
► Health Lectures by the Occupational Health Management Team
On 7 November, there will be an online lecture on “Working with Long-/Post-COVID from an Employee Perspective” and on 12 November on “The Impostor Self-Concept: Stacking Low but Flying High”. Registration is not required.
► Strategy Compass II: Strategic Leadership at TU Braunschweig
Strategy Compass II: Strategic Leadership at TU Braunschweig. The event “Strategic Leadership at the TU Braunschweig – in Conversation with the University Management” for managers will take place on 13 November at 11 a.m. in the Old Main Building.
► Assembly of scientific staff
In order to find and select candidates for the scientific staff, an online meeting will be held on 28 October at 4:00 pm.
► Our Darling of the week
… is boundless, musical and international. To celebrate its 60th anniversary, AkaBlas went on a big trip to Japan with 70 musicians. A visit to the German School Tokyo, an exchange with the Japanese-German Society and a joint concert with the symphony orchestra of Doshisha University showed the diverse commitment of our student initiatives as wonderful ambassadors of TU Braunschweig on the other side of the globe.
