► Highest-endowed research award: AvH professorship to Daniel Prades

We are delighted to welcome Daniel Prades as an Alexander von Humboldt Professor in the upcoming year. The top researcher in nanophotonics from the University of Barcelona will receive Germany’s most highly endowed research award of five million euros and will strengthen research on nano and quantum sensors in our region.

► New large-scale facility: An eagle for sustainable flying

The Cluster of Excellence SE2A is getting a new laboratory, the Electric Aircraft Ground Lab Environment (E2AGLE). The large-scale facility, which is being funded by the federal government and the state with 3 million euros, is being set up in 2 subsystems at TU Braunschweig and Leibniz Universität Hannover.

► Campus Hour with the president

The next Campus Hour will take place Tuesday, 13 June at 12:30 in the Student House. President Angela Ittel invites all members of the University to a personal exchange in a relaxed atmosphere.

► A strategic partner with much in common

At the end of May, President Angela Ittel, Vice-Presidents Prof. Tatjana Schneider and Prof. Manfred Krafczyk and other TU members visited the University of Strathclyde in Scotland. During the three-day delegation trip, a comprehensive partnership agreement was signed and joint projects were already planned.

► „ALADINA cleared for take-off“

The drone ALADINA of the Institute of Flight Guidance is being used in a study on fine dust pollution caused by air traffic around Frankfurt Airport. Measurements of ultra-fine dust particles are planned as part of the project, in particular their distribution in relation to altitude.

► Cooperation agreement on CoLiving Campus

Our President Angela Ittel and Mayor Dr. Thorsten Kornblum have now signed a cooperation agreement as the basis for joint planning and participation activities for the CoLiving Campus project. In doing so, they also once again promoted the participation process, which will start with the “CO_NFERENCE” from 15 to 30 June. Please register!

► Workshop on Superconducting Aircraft Power Systems

Prof. Michael Terörde and Philip Senkpiel from the Institute of Electromagnetic Compatibility, together with Johanna Anspach from the Junior Research Group Wiring Technologies participated in a workshop at the University of Strathclyde on superconductivity, aircraft electrical systems and power electronics in to intensify the cooperation.

► Campaign: “Zuhause in der Zukunft”

Have you already spotted the current campaign “Zuhause in der Zukunft” for the application phase that has just started? We are promoting studying at TU Braunschweig on our website, on social media as well as on advertising pillars and bus stops in 12 cities.

► 13. Campuslauf of TU Braunschweig

On 11 June at 11:00 the time has finally come again to (jointly) participate or watch: the famous Campuslauf is celebrating its comeback! Running enthusiasts can still register directly before the start between 09:15 and 10:45.

► Funding programme: Postdoctoral Researchers International Mobility Experience

With its “Postdoctoral Researchers International Mobility Experience” (PRIME) programme, the DAAD supports worldwide stays abroad and return phases in Germany.

► Darling of the week

The next week is entirely dedicated to the topic of sustainability, climate protection and social justice. From 13 to 15 June, the TUmorrow Days will take place on campus. In the second edition of the sustainability action days, interested visitors can look forward to a colourful programme of workshops, yoga, science slam and musical beats. A very special highlight: the ClimateCrisisClock at the Forum building, which was planned, implemented and set up by dedicated students. The climate clock will be switched on during the action days on 15 June. This will be followed by a panel discussion on the special role of universities in climate communication.
