► Excellence strategy: ConEcT draft proposal unfortunately not in next round

Last Friday, the German Research Foundation (DFG) announced which pre-proposals have been selected for the next round of the Cluster of Excellence funding line. Unfortunately, our proposal for sustainable construction (Transformative Construction Site Ecosystems – ConEcT) together with the TU Munich is not one of the selected projects. “Many thanks to everyone involved for the extensive preparatory work that went into the application. We will continue to develop this area of research at our university. We are convinced of the great potential of the scientists involved, their research and its importance for a climate-neutral future,” says President Angela Ittel.

► ERC Consolidator Grant for Prof Nils Goseberg

Prof. Nils Goseberg from the Leichtweiß Institute for Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources (LWI) has been awarded the prestigious European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator Grant for his groundbreaking project “AngryWaters” to protect coasts from extreme flow events. His project will be funded with around two million euros over five years. We congratulate him on this award!
