► More data for optimising wind farms

Wind energy from offshore wind farms is indispensable for the energy transition. The Institute of Flight Guidance has therefore carried out measurement flights of wind yield with two research aircraft as well as ground-based wind measurements in the German Bight over several years.

► Going for a microwave adventure

Congratulations to Prof. Vadim Issakov on his award as Distinguished Microwave Lecturer. As such, he will be travelling around the globe for the next three years, networking our metrological research on high frequencies.

The two students  Simon Beike and Hannah Louisa Boog went to South America from March to July. In “Mail from …” they report on what life and studying is like on the other side of the world.

… to Prof. Tanja Kessel, Chair of Infrastructure and Real Estate Management, on her appointment to the Scientific Advisory Board of the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt).

► Honouring the 50th doctoral anniversary

On 4 August, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Physics honoured Prof. Horst Germer, Prof. Manfred Lindmayer and Academic Director Helmut Mosebach with the renewal of their doctoral certificates. Congratulations!

This time Birgit Hübner, Institute for Marketing, presents a digital bouquet of flowers to the Facilities Management. She thanks the entire Division 3 for the quick processing of several damage reports.

With lots of seating or rather with a dome? What could Hagenmarkt look like in the future? Students of the Institute of Landscape Architecture have designed ideas for this. The results can now be viewed in the exhibition “Hagenmarkt – Platz der Zukunft”.
