► The decision makers

Our President Prof. Angela Ittel is one of the most important decision-makers of 2021 in the Standort38 review. “On her to-do list is nothing less than ‘holistic excellence’, with which the university should shine not only regionally, but also nationally and internationally. An ambitious goal in which we wish Prof. Ittel every success!” writes the magazine. The list of decision-makers includes other members of our university.

► Prof. Ittel elected to the steering committee of the SON Project Office

The Allianz für die Region GmbH unanimously elected our President to the steering committee of the South-East Lower Saxony Project Office. Together with the other eight members, she defines and discusses future focal points of the project office.

► The Future of the Urban Coastline

► Known drugs put to new use

The new Big Data platform “NeDRex” is designed to help researchers find alternative uses for existing medicines, so-called drug repurposing, and to facilitate the search for new therapeutics.

► Unfolding under stress

What happens when cells are under stress for a long time? Their molecular machines, the proteins, unfold, can no longer function properly and may ultimately damage the entire cell. Researchers at TU Braunschweig and Université Paris have investigated which processes lead to this.

► Seed Money for young and very young start-ups

The state and our Entrepreneurship Hub are looking for start-ups and young companies. They must pursue a start-up idea from the technology field of Mobility and Digitalisation. Up to 15 teams can receive scholarships and financial grants.

► Theory meets practice

We congratulate the students of the Master’s specialisation in Construction and Project Management Merle Hanker and Felix Deecke on their excellent third place in the 13th PERI Construction Management Exercise! The aim of the competition is the practical transfer of theoretical knowledge of construction operations.

High service quality in the onboarding process and in the support of international researchers is a priority at TU Braunschweig. New web pages with step-by-step instructions have now gone online to help host institutes and institutions.

The lecture slides and video recordings of the IT Security Awareness Days are now available online. In addition, Stud.IP quizzes offer the opportunity to check your own knowledge.

From 1 January, proposals can also be submitted together with Belgium via the Weave Lead Agency procedure.

► Braunschweig Citizens’ Prize

The awarding of the Braunschweig Citizens’ Prize for outstanding students will not be celebrated until next spring. But then it will be all the bigger. A consolation for four students in need: a total of 5,000 euros will be paid out to them as usual at the beginning of December.

► FFP2 masks

On Monday, 06.12.2021, FFP2 masks can be obtained from the Occupational Safety Office, Bültenweg 88, ground floor, from 11:30 – 14:00.
