This talk will exemplify the effect of EMI on academic content learning through empirical evidence. The influence on academic success andthe challenges faced by students will be examined through factors like first language (L1), general English language proficiency, academic English proficiency, self-efficacy, motivation, self-perceived academic success, and academic subject studied. Additionally, the implications of these research findings for teaching and learning in English as a second/third or fourth language will be presented. (1 AE)
