Increasingly, universities recognize Virtual Exchange (VE) as a strategic means to strengthen their internationalisation by making it more accessible, sustainable and resilient in the face of crisis. While VE certainly offers an ideal setting for promoting critical agency and developing language, intercultural and digital skills, its challenges also need to be addressed.
