Another year of the Niedersachsen-Technikum programme has been successfully completed. At the closing ceremony at TU Braunschweig, the participants presented the projects they had carried out during their internships at six regional partner companies.

The programme is aimed at young women with an Abitur (university entrance qualification) or a technical college entrance qualification who are considering studying STEM subjects, and offers six months of insight into university life and the world of work. At TU Braunschweig, the female engineering students gained practical experience in research and teaching, took part in workshops on choosing a degree programme and went on joint excursions. The partner companies enable independent projects under professional guidance and also pay an internship allowance, which allows participants to move to the region specifically for the programme.

A total of nine female engineering students completed the programme at TU Braunschweig this year. They all received a certificate for their outstanding achievements at a farewell ceremony on 27 February. Some of the participating companies have been involved in the programme since its first year, but there are always new companies in the region joining in.
