TU Braunschweig becomes a member of the network of German Houses of Science and Innovation
- TU Braunschweig has become an associate supporter of the German House of Science and Innovation (DWIH) in New Delhi.
- The DWIH serves as an important hub for academic and technical cooperation between Germany and India.
TU Braunschweig has been actively promoting scientific partnerships in India for many years, cooperating with leading institutions such as the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS Pilani). The various collaborations of TU faculties range from student exchanges to cooperation in research projects. TU Braunschweig and DWIH New Delhi work closely together in the field of science-based start-ups. For example, a workshop for twelve incubator managers from India was organised in Braunschweig in 2023. The TU Braunschweig is also a core partner of the DWIH’s „Immersion Programme“, „Innovators Connect“, which has been running since 2022.
TU President visits India’s capital
TU President Angela Ittel is currently on a delegation trip to India organised by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Part of the programme is the Indo-German Forum of the German Science and Innovation House (DWIH), which brings together more than 250 public institutions, funding agencies and universities from both science systems with more than 100 members of the German university management. The aim is to promote cooperation between Germany and India and to exchange ideas on higher education policy issues such as internationalisation, research and innovation.
In addition to participating in a high-level international panel on „The Future of International Research Collaboration: Frameworks, Partnerships, and Impact“, Angela Ittel received the official certificate of TU Braunschweig’s associate membership in the DWIH New Delhi during the Indo-German Forum visit. This is the first membership of TU Braunschweig in a DWIH.
About the DWIH
The German Science and Innovation Houses (DWIH) are a network of German research organisations, universities and research-based companies. At a total of six locations worldwide – in San Francisco, New York, Sao Paulo, Moscow, New Delhi and Tokyo – the DWIH offer German innovation leaders a common platform. They demonstrate the capabilities of German research and promote cooperation by networking German scientists with local partners.
The DWIH in New Delhi brings together 28 German institutions dedicated to research, innovation and knowledge transfer in cooperation between German and Indian institutions.
„It is more important than ever to strengthen cooperation with India, as the country has developed enormous scientific potential, is rapidly expanding its internationalisation and has a strong research infrastructure. It is a very important signal that TU Braunschweig is now an associate member of the German House for Business and Innovation (DWIH) in New Delhi. Together with this strong network, we can promote the exchange of students and knowledge as well as innovations to foster a robust joint research culture,“ said Angela Ittel.
