The object of the research project was the actin filament network (lamellipodium) in a cell (for the dimension see red bracket). Specifically, the image shows a cancer cell (melanoma from a mouse) in which all actin filaments are stained and which is able to migrate to all kinds of organs in mice with a suppressed immune system.
