Winter break at TU Braunschweig Closing times over the turn of the year

As in previous years, Technische Universität Braunschweig will take a winter break. All facilities and institutes will be closed from Saturday, 21 December 2024 up to and including Sunday, 5 January 2025. The telephone switchboard and the mail room will also be closed during this period. Individual study rooms will be available for students.

Overview of the closing times

Student Service Centre and Student Service Call: 21 December 2024 to 5 January 2025

  • On 20 December, the Student Service Centre will be available as usual from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and the Student Service Call from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Academic Advice Service (ZSB): 21 December 2024 to 1 January 2025

  • The Academic Advice Service will offer telephone consultation hours on 2 January from 1 to 2 p.m. and on 3 January from 9 to 10 a.m.

International House: 21 December 2024 to 5 January 2025

  • The International House will not be open during this period.

University Library (UB): 21 December 2024 to 5 January 2025

  • Digital media will be available to all university members as usual via the university network during this period.

Gauß IT Centre, Hans-Sommer-Straße 65, and Pockelsstr. 4: 21 December 2024 to 5 January 2025

  • On 20 December, the work rooms will be closed shortly before 10 p.m. The central printing system will be shut down at 10 p.m.

Sports centre: 20 December 2024 to 5 January 2025

  • The closure includes all sports courses and facilities, including sports halls, the CampusGym and the entire outdoor facilities at Franz-Liszt-Straße 34.

Canteens: 21 December 2024 to 5 January 2025

  • All Studierendenwerk canteens and cafeterias are closed during the winter break.

Availability of study spaces

During the winter break, the following study spaces are available for students:

  • Central Student House: Open for all students from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. from 2 January 2025.
  • Masch.Bau – Student House: Open during the entire closing times. All those who have registered in advance can continue to reserve the places and study in the rooms.
