Off for winter break! Closing times at TU Braunschweig over the turn of the year

As in previous years, Technische Universität Braunschweig will take a winter break. All facilities and institutes will be closed from Saturday, 20 December 2025 up to and including Sunday, 4 January 2026. The telephone switchboard and the mail room will also be closed during this period. Individual study rooms will be available for students.

Overview of the closing times

Student Service Centre and Student Service Call: 20 December 2025 to 4 January 2026

  • On 20 December, the Student Service Call will be available as usual from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • The Student Service Centre will already be closed on 18 and 19 December due to maintenance work. On these days, the Academic Advice Service, the Social Counselling and the International House will offer alternative office hours at other locations.

Academic Advice Service (ZSB): 20 December 2025 to 4 January 2026

  • The ZSB will not be open during this period.

International House: 20 December 2025 to 4 January 2026

  • The International House will not be open during this period.

University Library (UB): 20 December 2025 to 4 January 2026

  • Digital media will be available to all university members as usual via the university network during this period.

Gauß IT Centre, Hans-Sommer-Straße 65, and Pockelsstr. 4: 20 December 2025 to 4 January 2026

  • On 19 December, the work rooms will be closed at 5 p.m. The central printing system will be shut down at 5 p.m.

Sports centre: 19 December 2025 to 4 January 2026

  • The sports courses and facilities, including sports halls and the entire outdoor facilities at Franz-Liszt-Straße 34, will close at 8 a.m. on 19 December.
  • The CampusGym is an exception: it will remain open until 4 p.m. on 19 December. All users must leave the building by 4:30 p.m. at the latest.

Canteens: 19/20 December 2025 to 4 January 2026

  • Only Mensa 2 will remain open on 19 December.
  • All other Studierendenwerk canteens and cafeterias will be closed from 19 December onwards.

Availability of study spaces

During the winter break, the following study spaces are available for students:

  • Central Student House: Closed from 24 December and reopening for all students on 2 January 2026.
  • Masch.Bau – Student House: Open during the entire closing times. All those who have registered in advance can continue to reserve the places and study in the rooms.
