► University election results
From 16 to 23 January, all members of the TU Braunschweig were invited to vote in the university elections. The results will be published on the website later today. All members of staff will receive a circular email as soon as the results are available online.
► “Remembrance means more than remembering the past”
27 January marked the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp. Around 1.5 million people were killed here, including one million Jews. Auschwitz became a symbol of the Shoah, in which six million Jews were murdered. Together with TU-members, President Angela Ittel and Jakob Stahlhofen from the AStA laid flowers in memory of the victims at the Stolperstein threshold in front of the old building.
► GeDiMINT – Call for proposals to support research initiatives 2025
Anyone at TU Braunschweig who conducts interdisciplinary research and is interested in how gender dimensions can be relevant in the field of research can receive support: The call for proposals, which runs until 10 March, offers the opportunity to implement your own formats of exchange in order to develop research initiatives.
► Survey Results Published
The CoARA Working Group on Reforming Academic Career Assessment (WG ACA), of which TU Braunschweig is a member, has released its first outputs that contain findings from a survey of nearly 200 academic organizations, presenting six key lessons that highlight both opportunities and ongoing challenges for reforming academic career assessment. Results can be found on Zenodo.
► Photo Competition on the Theme “Memories That Last”
TU staff and students who have completed or will complete a work-related or study-related stay abroad during the winter semester 2024/25 or the summer semester 2025 are invited to submit their favourite photo for the International House photo competition.
► The Kids’ University podcasts are broadcast on Radio Okerwelle.
“Clever nachgefragt!” – the Kids’ University podcast series on the subject of ecology is broadcast on Radio Okerwelle in the programme “Okerpiraten” every Saturday from 12 to 13 pm until 22 February.
► Computer Science Day attracts many visitors
More than 500 students and 30 teachers from 16 schools attended the Computer Science Day on 27 January. The event offered a varied programme on topics from teaching and research, highlighting the importance of computing in many areas of life and work.
►Apply now for the Women in Entrepreneurship Programme
The GUILD Academy and the German Centre for Research and Innovation San Francisco (DWIH San Francisco) are sponsoring participation in a hybrid entrepreneurship programme for female students and researchers. The goal is to strengthen their own entrepreneurial skills. More information and application here.
► BMWK: EXIST Business Start-up Grant
The transfer service supports students, doctoral candidates, postdocs and academics with their start-up projects and helps them to apply for the EXIST Business Start-up Grant. For further information please send an email.
