Student campaign nominated for the Marketing Lion

The central marketing campaign At home in the future, including the course-specific campaign Charge up for Changefor the new Bachelor’s degree programme in Battery and Hydrogen Technology, has been nominated for the 15th Marketing Lion. Together with the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg and Hyand GmbH, our campaign is on the shortlist for the main prize. Now it’s time to keep our fingers crossed for the award ceremony on 15 August at the Staatstheater Braunschweig! 

Total E-Quality Prädikat: convincing strategy

TU Braunschweig has been honoured with the TOTAL E-QUALITY Prädikat for the sixth time. The award focusses on gender and diversity equality under intersectional and inclusive approaches. The award ceremony will take place on 14 November at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main.

Interview with Prof. Marius Milatz

On 1 April, Marius Milatz took over as head of the Institute for Geomechanics and Geotechnics. Heiko Jacobs spoke to him about CT scanners that specialise in soil investigations, how climate change affects the soil and his love of nature.

► University lecturers and young academics of the year wanted

The German Association of University Professors and Lecturers is offering prize money of 10,000 euros for researchers with exceptional commitment. In addition, academics.de honours the Young Researcher of the Year with prize money of 5,000 euros. Researchers can be nominated in both categories until 30 September. 

Students from Peru visit TU Braunschweig

15 students from the Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina in Peru visited TU Braunschweig in mid-July. The DAAD-funded trip gave the students the opportunity to find out more about study and research opportunities in the field of biology.

Call for proposals Incubator for biomedical innovation

All biomedical locations in Lower Saxony can apply for the two-stage process by submitting a short application until 2 September. The six finalists will be selected by the end of September. The programme is looking for promising ideas with the prospect of scaling and commercialisation with a focus on the life sciences, which will be funded with up to 1.5 million euros for a period of up to two years.

TRACES project with TU participation

At the Institute of Fluid Mechanics, six doctoral students are involved in sub-projects of the TRACES initiative, which deals with icing during flight. TRACES is a European doctoral network that gives 15 doctoral students the opportunity to obtain a double degree in dual PhD programs across two partner universities. Our Institute is the host institution for two and the joint institution for four. 

Two successful PhD students

Two PhD students from the Institute of Organic Chemistry were successful at the 39th Annual Meeting of the International Society of Chemical Ecology in Prague from 14 to 18 July. Johanna Kuhn won 1st prize for the best poster and the Kenji Mori Chirality Award for the best work in the field of chirality. Anton Möllerke received the 1st prize for his lecture. Both also won a travel prize to attend the conference. Congratulations!

► Darling of the week

Wow, our TU student Fares Badawi has travelled to Paris for the Olympic Games this week and will be competing in the judo competitions. We are keeping our fingers crossed for him and wish him a successful and exciting time in Paris!

► Guess what! – Resolution from 19 June

Answer b) is correct. In the summer semester, 3355 courses were offered. By the way: For the current examination period, 503 rooms were reserved for the examinations by the lecture hall allocation.
